About Big Trees Nursery
Our People
Big Trees Nursery has assembled a staff of experienced people driven by excellence and guided by decades of experience. Our crews do things “the right way” so that you are assured of great trees delivered on time. Key people are owner Charlie Jancic, sales manager Adam Gunn, supervisor Pedro Vargas, crew leaders Felix & Adan Villegas. Charlie Jancic owned and operated the largest nursery in the country specializing in living Christmas trees, Pinery Tree Farms. In addition he has owned and operated several wholesale & retail nurseries in his 36 years in the industry. Sales manager Adam Gunn has built a solid reputation for enthusiastically putting his customer interests first, as well as excellent follow through. Supervisor Pedro Vargas leads an experience team of field workers who can accomplish the most challenging of tree boxing and moving jobs. We work closely with an associate, Mark Holland, the owner of Big Trees of California, who has 29 years experience moving large trees, both with tree spades and by boxing.
Tree Nursery Location
Big Trees Nursery is based in Escondido, California and sells, buys and relocates specimen trees through out California, Arizona and Nevada. We have a 10 acre sales yard that has a small sample of the trees that are available at our other properties in North San Diego County. You are welcome to visit from 7:30 to 4:30, 7 days a week. However, if you need sales assistance please call 858-487-5553 for an appointment, as we are not always on site. The sales yard is located 12450 Highland Valley Rd. Escondido 92025 at the corner of Highland Valley Rd. & Pomerado Rd. just off the I-15, West Bernardo/Pomerado Rd. exit. This is just north of Rancho Bernardo. To reach our nursery, drive straight through Evergreen Nursery and watch for the Big Trees Nursery signs leading to the bottom of the property.

Big Trees Nursery provides specimen trees and relocation services to leading landscape companies in the industry as well as individual homeowners. Our customers include many of the premier landscape architectural firms, landscapers, as well as developers and plant brokers in California, Nevada and Arizona. Many of our trees go to addresses in Cielo, The Bridges & The Crosby in Rancho Santa Fe, Shady Canyon, Pelican Hills & Crystal Cove in the Newport area as well as Malibu, Hollywood & Beverly Hills, Ca. and high end projects in Nevada and Arizona & Texas.
